Sentineo created a special system for the Ethos wristwatch that uses the heat from your wrist to power itself. This means you don't need to worry about replacing batteries or charging it often

Here’s the simple but challenging idea: the wristwatch has an energy harvester that turns your body heat into energy. This way, it stays charged as long as you’re wearing it (and even a couple of weeks when not worn). Best of all, batteries can be eliminated all together in this approach. To realize the unique vision of Ethos, Sentineo helped develop a system that gathers energy from the heat emitted by the wearer’s wrist. Sentineo collaborated closely with Ethos to develop and refine the energy harvesting solution, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and user experience. The wristwatch exemplifies sustainability in action: reducing the environmental impact associated with disposable batteries and the need for frequent charging. The final solution fully eliminates the need and use of batteries.

A unique vision

Ethos approached Sentineo with its unique vision: to create a wristwatch that uses the body heat from the wearer’s wrist as an energy source. Sentineo took on the challenge and designed the innovative technology to make it happen. The result is a sustainable wristwatch that reduces waste and helps the environment by eliminating the need for traditional batteries.

To efficiently convert the harvested thermal energy into usable electrical power, Sentineo integrated an E-peas electronic chip in combination with a thermoelectric generator (TEG). This advanced energy management solution optimizes the conversion process, maximizing the power output from the TEG and ensuring a sustainable and reliable energy source for the wristwatch.
